Kathryn Stedham has been an exhibiting artist for over fifteen years showing throughout the United States. Selected examples of her paintings and monoprints are featured in private and public collections in Chicago, Colorado, New York City, Washington DC, Kansas, Louisville, KY. West Virginia, Utah, Vancouver and Japan. The artist has received numerous grants and awards including two Professional Development Grants and an Artist Fellowship funded by the West Virginia Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. Stedham was also recently honored as featured artist and juror for the World Bank in Washington, DC.
Kathryn Stedham’s gestural paintings are very much informed by calligraphic line and her interest in Asian aesthetic. In addition to her recent travels to Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand and Cambodia, the artist is a student of the Sanbo Kyodan School of Zen Buddhism. Stedham is currently represented by Parish Gallery in Georgetown, Washington DC, Cultureclash in Salida, Colorado and Shade Tree Art Gallery in Krabi, Thailand.
